VoxWhisper help — Watch, iPhone, notes and transcription

Use VoxWhisper on Apple Watch and iPhone, understand Pro transcription requirements, and troubleshoot while keeping your notes safe.

Install on Watch and iPhone

VoxWhisper runs on Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later and has an iPhone companion for iOS 17 or later. Search for VoxWhisper in the App Store on your device. On iPhone, you can read, search, write, edit, copy and share text notes. Pro voice memos recorded on Watch can be copied directly to iPhone for playback and sharing.

Save your first text note

Open VoxWhisper on your watch and tap the microphone. Use watchOS dictation or text entry, then tap Done. Open Notes inside VoxWhisper to read the saved text. Open a note and tap Send to choose an available sharing destination.

Dictation is not producing text

Try a short sentence in the watchOS text-entry screen. Check the selected dictation language and the watch’s connection. If dictation is unavailable, use an available text-entry option. Dictation availability depends on Apple’s language, device and network support.

Why did my audio memo not become text?

Watch text dictation and audio recording are separate features. To turn a Watch voice memo into text, open the iPhone companion and find the recording under Voice memos from your watch. Transcription requires Pro and a compatible iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Tap Transcribe and allow speech recognition. You can search or copy the transcript, or choose Save as note. After you enable transcription, newly received recordings may transcribe automatically while Pro and permission remain available.

If Transcribe is missing, check your iOS version. If the Pro screen opens, check your existing subscription before purchasing again. If speech recognition is off, use Open Settings to review permission. Transcription uses a supported language for your iPhone's current locale; language and model availability vary by device. A model download may be needed, so check your connection and allow it to finish. If the app says your language is not supported, transcription may not be available on that device; reinstalling is not a fix. For an empty or failed result, play the memo to check for audible speech and use Try again if offered. Transcription runs on iPhone, without a developer-operated transcription server.

Where are my older notes?

The free view shows your 25 most recent text notes. Older saved notes are retained, and Pro unlocks access to the full saved history. An expired subscription does not by itself delete saved notes.

Restore an existing Pro subscription

Use the same Apple Account that purchased Pro, check your watch’s connection, then open the Pro purchase screen and choose Restore Purchases. If access is still missing, check whether the subscription is active in your Apple Account. Do not buy again to troubleshoot an existing purchase.

Manage or cancel Pro

Manage your subscription in your Apple Account subscriptions. Removing the app does not cancel Pro. The current price and renewal terms are shown before purchase.

Keep your notes safe

Share important text notes before changing devices or troubleshooting. Eligible text sync through your own iCloud is subject to Apple’s limits; it is not a complete backup guarantee. Original audio memos remain on Watch, with direct copies on iPhone; audio does not sync through iCloud. Share important recordings from iPhone before changing devices. Do not delete or reinstall the app as a first troubleshooting step: local notes and recordings may be lost.

Still need help?

Include your Watch and iPhone models, OS versions, app version if available, and the steps leading to the problem. For transcription, include the iPhone language and the error message. Describe what you expected and what happened. If you attach a screenshot, hide private note content and account details. Never send passwords or payment-card details.
