Why does a paper say “metadata only” when I can read it online?
Readable and mineable are different permissions. A paper can be free to read while its publisher has reserved text-and-data-mining rights. Stemmata reports the second, and shows the licence or opt-out clause the decision came from.
What does “the reservation set is stale” mean?
Permission decisions rest on publisher opt-out data that has a date. When that data is more than 180 days old, the card says so rather than presenting an old answer as a current one. The decision remains visible, together with the age of the underlying data.
Search within my library finds nothing for a word I know is in a paper
Local library search runs entirely on your device and covers the metadata and any text you have imported. It cannot search a full text you do not have. For inflected languages, try a shorter stem — the trigram leg is built for exactly that case.
Do my notes synchronize between devices?
Notes stay on this device in the current release. The app contains a conflict-free merge engine, but it does not provide a service that transfers or synchronizes notes between devices.
A work is missing from my export
Works whose permission is closed are excluded from export by design. The export summary lists what was left out and why.
Data, deletion, refunds
Stemmata stores nothing on a server, so there is no account to close. Deleting the app removes the library. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple: report a problem.
