Vird has no account, no server, and no analytics. Your card library is local. Optional external AI and exports are separate choices, described below.
Your cards, review history and settings are stored on your device. Optional local mirroring, included in the free plan, writes Markdown and JSONL files to the app's Documents/vird directory on iOS. These files are visible in Files. This feature does not by itself establish automatic iCloud synchronization. If you export or copy files to a cloud service, that service handles them under your account and its own terms.
If you link a notes folder, Vird reads it to offer note titles and excerpts as sources for cards. It opens files read-only. It does not write to, rename, move, or delete anything in that folder.
Vird has one optional feature that uses the network: AI card suggestions. It is off by default. It requires Vird Plus and a provider key that you supply yourself and that is stored in the iOS Keychain.
When you use it, Vird sends to the provider you configured:
| Sent | The note's title, and a short excerpt of it. |
|---|---|
| Not sent | The note body. Tags. File names or paths. Other notes. Your card history. Any identifier for you or your device. |
This is not a promise made in prose only. The payload is assembled in a single function in the shared core, and a test asserts the exact set of keys that function may pass on — not "the body is absent" but "only title and excerpt are present". If anyone later adds a field, the test fails and the build stops.
Your relationship with that provider is yours. Their policy applies to what you send them; Norea Studio is not a party to it and never sees the key or the request.
Nothing. No telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no third-party SDK that phones home. If you email support, I have your email — and only what you chose to write in it.
Vird Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether the purchase is active. Vird never sees your payment details, and Norea Studio receives only Apple's aggregate sales reports, which do not identify you.
Vird is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone, of any age.
You can remove local cards and app data on your device. Deleting the app may also remove its local mirror; export a copy outside the app first if you want to keep your library. Copies you exported or uploaded to other locations must be managed there separately. Contact support if you need help finding your data.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the previous text stays in the site's public history.
