Look at the horizon, clipped highlights and readable light range. An uncertainty band means the number is an estimate, not an exact value.

See which highlights are already clipped in the preview. Clipping cannot reveal how much detail exists beyond that limit.

Explore converging verticals using the lens and pitch inputs. The estimate assumes a flat façade; it does not correct your photo.
Preview measurements have limits. Scrim does not measure calibrated incident lux, set ISO/shutter/aperture, or recover clipped image detail. It complements your camera workflow.
Before you buy
Is this an exposure calculator for film?
No. Scrim evaluates the phone's processed preview and motion readings. It does not supply calibrated incident-light exposure settings for a film camera. If you need a dedicated light meter reading or automatic shutter/aperture recommendations, this is a different tool.
Does the HDR delivery view inspect my photos?
No. It is a comparison based on a gain ratio you choose and example display capacities. It illustrates how those assumptions change highlight headroom. It does not import a photo, read its gain map, or measure the recipient's display.
Can the Watch measure without the phone?
No. The camera measurement comes from your iPhone. Open Scrim on the phone and keep the paired Watch connected. The Watch shows the decision; it is not a camera preview or shutter remote.
Are my photos uploaded or stored?
Scrim does not save preview frames or upload them. It has no account, ads or analytics. Numeric decisions can be sent to your own paired Apple Watch. See the privacy policy for details.
What does the purchase include?
The app's light, horizon, verticals and HDR comparison views, plus the paired Watch companion. There is no subscription or additional in-app purchase. The App Store shows your region's current price before purchase.
What if I declined Camera access?
Enable Camera for Scrim in your device's Settings, then reopen Scrim. If the preview or a reading still does not appear, contact support with your device model, OS version and the step that failed.
