Your private workspace stays on your device. Your archive, projects and plans are stored in the app on your device. They are not uploaded to a developer-operated backend. User-initiated searches, web clipping and optional exports are described below.
There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server operated by us.
You choose what leaves: literature searches and web clipping contact the selected public service. Version 1.3 is available on the App Store, with previewed progress cards and recovery files sent only to the destination you select in the system share sheet.
Planned for 1.4: a private research PDF includes your project title, working notes, selected sources and search history. You review the content before choosing an export destination. Not yet available; release depends on App Store approval.

Forgn stores the following in the app's private storage on your iPhone:
There is no automatic upload to us. Deleting the app removes its local data. Device backups and restoration, if enabled in your Apple settings, are managed by Apple. We hold no server copy. In 1.3, save an Export recovery copy from Profile before removing the app if you need an independent copy.
The following user actions contact external services. Your device communicates with the destination directly; Forgn does not route these requests through a developer-operated backend. Apple may also receive requests needed to check or restore your subscription.

Your full archive is not included in literature or website requests. A recovery export intentionally includes your full stored work, so keep it private. Search services and sharing destinations have their own privacy policies. Forgn does not log queries on a developer-operated server. Temporary card and export files are removed from the app cache after the share sheet closes.
The planned 1.4 PDF is generated on your device, without sending its contents to us or to the literature services. It contains private project information, so review it before choosing a recipient or save location. After sharing completes or is cancelled, Forgn attempts to remove that export's temporary cached PDF. Copies saved or sent to your chosen destination are not removed by this cleanup and are handled under that destination's policies. Planned for version 1.4; not yet available. Release depends on App Store approval.
Forgn asks for no camera permission and no photo library permission, because it needs neither. Scanning a printed page uses your iPhone's built-in text recognition from the keyboard: iOS opens the camera, recognises the text on the device, and types the result into the app. Forgn never receives an image and no photo is saved.
Voice notes use the iOS dictation key on the keyboard. Speech handling is Apple's; see Apple's privacy documentation for how dictation works on your device.
If you turn on Face ID unlock, iOS performs the check and tells the app only "succeeded" or "failed". Your biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never available to Forgn.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Forgn receives only a verified receipt of what was purchased and until when. We do not see, receive or store your name, email, card, or any payment detail. Manage or cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
External research services handle requests under their own policies linked above. arXiv retains IP addresses and request paths in logs for abuse protection and may use request information for research in the public interest. Although arXiv states that it does not attempt to identify browsing users, it treats this information as personal data. Forgn therefore declares Search History and Other Data (network request information) as linked data used for App Functionality and Other Purposes. Neither is used for advertising tracking. Forgn sends no account or advertising identifier with searches. Private project notes are not included in a search request.
Forgn is a tool for research and invention and is not directed at children. We do not request a child’s profile or use advertising or analytics. Optional online services process requests as described above.
Under the GDPR, the KVKK and similar laws you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection. For the workspace stored on your device:
We do not receive your in-app archive. If you contact support by email, we receive the address and content you send and use them to handle your request. Avoid sending sensitive project details unless necessary. Contact us about access or deletion of support correspondence.
If a future version of Forgn ever sends something new, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the App Store release notes. The date at the top always reflects the current text.

App Store'da yayımlanan 1.3 sürümü araştırma defterleri, paylaşım kartları ve kurtarma dosyalarını içerir. Paylaşım kartı yalnızca önizlenen herkese açık çıkarımı ve kaynak/arama sayılarını içerir; özel proje adı, sorgular ve notlar eklenmez. Kurtarma dosyası ise tüm arşivi, projeleri ve araştırma defterlerini içerir. Hedefi sistem paylaşım ekranında siz seçersiniz.
1.4 için planlanan özel araştırma PDF'si: proje başlığını; ortak mekanizma, açık soru ve sonraki deney hakkındaki üç özel çalışma notunu; varsa DOI veya arXiv bağlantılarıyla seçilmiş kaynakçayı; kayıtlı arama sorgularını, zamanlarını ve her sağlayıcının arama kapsamını içerir. Tüm içeriği önizledikten sonra kaydetme veya paylaşma hedefini sistem ekranında siz seçersiniz. PDF cihazınızda oluşturulur; içeriği bize veya literatür hizmetlerine gönderilmez. Yalnızca seçtiğiniz hedefe aktarılır. Herkese açık ilerleme kartı ayrı kalır ve yalnızca kamusal çıkarımı ve kaynak/arama sayılarını içerir.
PDF paylaşımı tamamlandığında veya iptal edildiğinde Forgn, o dışa aktarımın geçici önbellek dosyasını silmeyi dener. Seçtiğiniz hedefe kaydettiğiniz veya gönderdiğiniz kopyalar bu işlemle silinmez. Özellik 1.4 sürümü için planlanmıştır ve henüz kullanıma sunulmamıştır. Yayımlanması App Store onayına bağlıdır.
Kamera ve fotoğraf izni istenmez: sayfa tarama, iOS'un klavyedeki kendi metin tanımasını kullanır ve fotoğraf uygulamaya hiç ulaşmaz. Face ID kontrolünü iOS yapar; biyometrik veriniz uygulamaya verilmez. Abonelikler Apple tarafından işlenir; ödeme bilgilerinizi görmeyiz.
KVKK ve GDPR kapsamındaki erişim, düzeltme, silme ve taşınabilirlik haklarınız uygulama içinden doğrudan kullanılabilir: 1.3 sürümünde Profile → Your data → Export recovery copy, JSON kurtarma dosyası oluşturur. Uygulamanın silinmesi yerel veriyi kaldırır; Apple cihaz yedekleri Apple ayarlarınıza bağlıdır. Destek e-postası gönderirseniz adresinizi ve gönderdiğiniz içeriği destek talebini yanıtlamak için alırız.
